The Sunday Journal

Where our concierges go

The places we return to, again and again, across our founding collection in Gauteng.

We built our founding collection by visiting the places ourselves, not by reading reviews from a desk. Seven properties, all within reach of the city, each one earning its place for a different reason.

Mount Grace Hotel & Spa, deep in the Magaliesberg, for when a guest needs to slow down more than they'll admit to on the phone. Sibani Lodge, for the couples who want mountains and stillness more than a view of anyone else. Forum Homini, when the occasion calls for a table and nothing else.

Askari Game Lodge, for the friend groups and families who need open space and a fire at the end of the day. Kievits Kroon, for teams and celebrations that deserve a country estate instead of a conference room. Cradle Boutique Hotel, for the occasions that don't fit anywhere else on this list. And De Hoek Country Hotel, for those who want country elegance over mountain spa.

This is our founding collection, not our final one. More of South Africa is coming. For now, we'd rather curate seven places well than a hundred we haven't been to.

Let's plan something beautiful
